Today, I'm continuing on the topic of getting things done during a move. We already have our master lists in hand, and now it's time to start packing. It's a lot like cleaning, unfortunately you can't expect everything to look nice when you're done. We'll have to just be content with a pile of boxes and a shrinking list.

Packing Up and Moving Out (Part 1)
Since I'm currently suffering through the ordeal of packing everything to move and it's a fairly common occurrence (or so I'm told), I thought I might share some tips for getting things done when moving. As always, organization is key to minimizing stress and maximizing efficiency. Moving is one project you don't want to try doing in one night.

How To Plan Out Big Projects?
Whether it's for work or home, life is full of large goals and big projects. It's easy to procrastinate instead of coming up with a plan, but a plan is the only way you're ever going to finish and finish well. What we want to look at is a basic strategy for creating this plan.

TV and Facebook and YouTube--Oh My!!
One of the most common questions about getting things done is where relaxation and entertainment fit into the equation. I heard millionaires don't watch tv...do I really have to give up Survivor to be successful? My friends are always sending me links to great videos...how do I clear my email without getting stuck on YouTube? What about Facebook? I don't want to lose contact with people.

Time Bites
Like most people, I hate projects that I just know are going to take me forever before I even start them. They make my brain hurt every time I see them on my list. If ever there were tasks that I was likely to procrastinate, these are the ones. People are always telling me, "You eat an elephant one bite at a time." It's a nice metaphor. We usually take this analogy to mean that big projects can be broken down into smaller tasks. But what if the smaller tasks are still too big? How do you break tasks down even further?

Be a Fan of Getting Things Done
We like the word motivation. It sounds serious and professional. But what does it really mean? It boils down to excitement and enthusiasm. If you're really motivated, you're really hyped up. Don't think I'm exaggerating. If an image of sports fans with painted faces comes to mind--good--that's what you want! Those fans drive from all over the country to watch a game they could see on TV. That takes enthusiasm and excitement. That takes getting hyped up. Those people have gotten themselves motivated. If you want to succeed in every area of your life, you have to take that kind of passion into every area of your life.

Obstacles to Getting Things Done in Our Small Business
I have to be honest. Since starting this blog about strategies to help get things done, my productivity has plummetted. Every time I take on a new project, I find my business suffers while I figure out what I'm doing. I knew I was going to write this post; yet, here I am finishing it six hours before post time. How did I get behind so quickly?
Other days, I'm a master task killer. Look out list. Here I come! Those are the days I practice what I preach and manage to overcome all obstacles to success. Those days feel really good. Why can't I get things done everyday? I am trying to run a business. Right? Maybe these will sound familiar to you too.

Budgetting Your Time to Get Things Done
Let's be honest. You're never going to get anything done if you can't control where you spend your time. It's like trying to get rich when you've never met a sale you didn't like. If you can't hold on to some of the time you've been given and direct it toward the tasks you need to get done, they just aren't going to get done. Just like the best way to get rich is to budget your money, the best way to get things done is to budget your time.

Four Ways to Get the Work Done
Do you have a hard time getting your work done? It can be so easy to get lost in the day and never get things done. Here are four ways for you to get the work done.
1. Have a Goal
You have to know what you want to do before you can start. It doesn't really matter what the goal is as long as you have one.
